Sept 7 on Rock Ed Radio >> LIFE CHOICES

Posted on 02 September 2008 by Gang Badoy

Let’s talk about the Reproductive Health bill. Now on the table. Talked about in Congress, debated on in religious circles. Somehow discussed in schools.

What do you know of the Reproductive Health bill?
Do you support or oppose it?

Undecided?
Okay, at the very least – stop ignoring it.

Let’s talk about this. Frank and forward will be the night’s attitude. So please, join the conversation.

The Reproductive Health Advocacy Network (RHAN) will give us an overview of the bill. Express their opinion. Then perhaps we can decide from there.

The following guests will be there to talk to us: Elizabeth Angsioco (SecGen, RHAN also Natl Chair -Democratic Socialist Women of the Phils, DWSP), Earnest Zabala (RHAN), Ramon San Pascual (Exec Dir Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population Devt, PLCPD) and Kiko de la Tonga (youth organizer, Pinagsamang Lakas ng Kababaihan at Kabataan, PILAKK)

Rock Ed Radio believes that we should never oppose nor support something without (even just a marginal amount of) understanding it.

So post. Comment. Complain. Choose.

Ask.

  4. joriz Says:

i support reproductive health bill. sa status ng ating bansa ngayon, parang need na for every couple to engage in family planning.
but then, ang problema nito, marami ang hindi lubusang nkakaalam sa content ng bill, including me.
so i guess, bago ipasa ang to, kelangan munang i-educate ang people regarding the said bill.

  6. elias Says:

  7. Pransis Says:

Going through the short article posted by Inquirer on the internet, mukha namang maganda ang laman ng bill.

I particularly like ‘yung isang line from Congressman Lagman:
“The bill is not antilife. It is proquality life.”

  8. Sandbox Says:

You haven’t even gleaned on the proliferation of STD’s. Some STD’s don’t even exhibit symptoms for some people who become carriers of these diseases. The most effective way to prevent these diseases are abstinence or condoms. If the youth found out how easy it was to catch these diseases and what they do to your body, they may think twice about having sex.

  9. miranila Says:

Gang, thanks so much for guesting the Reproductive Health Advocacy Network. For those who want to sign the petition, please go to http://www.petitiononline.com/rhan2008/petition.html

  10. koikoi ampalaya Says:

  13. Anonymous Says:

Maayung gabi. Mabuti nalang we can hear you live on the radio. Where’s Lourd?

  14. jeffrey of davao Says:

Good evening sa lahat.

  16. felixcute Says:

Hi Tado and Gang! At nagpapaabort? Ano ang parusa sa kanila?

  17. rayzelle Says:

Then it’s a good bill pala. Do you think may iba pang rason sa pagtutol nito aside from religion?

  18. rakenrol Says:

Hi Gang. What a choice of co-host. Nobody could be better. If Lourd’s listening, for sure,he’ll agree with me. Tado will make a great host.

  19. zeus Says:

I don’t think I agree that if you don’t support a big family, you are allowed to do so. How about your obligation to the environment? Population really takes its toll on earth.

  20. adrian Says:

I believe in the RH bill in order for our people to have modern knowledge in family planning.

  21. king Says:

May guests po ba kayo from the religious group?

  23. android Says:

What does the RH bill have in store for couples who already have many children?

  24. azea Says:

    Immoral ba ang pag-aabort?

  25. jeffrey of davao Says:

  26. felixcute Says:

Anong bansa ba ang legal ang abortion? Ano naman ang feedback ng simbahan nila?

  27. Anonymous Says:

Siguro one of the reasons is hindi na madagdagan yung pera ng kani-kanilang simbahan. Reaksyon ko po yan sa tanong.

  28. Anonymous Says:

  29. Gina of Cebu Says:

I’m a Catholic pero somehow against ako sa mga leaders ng church namin.

  30. Anonymous Says:

Speaking of condoms, may kwento sa kin ang mom ko na may nakita syang mga high school boys na nagbibilihan ng condoms sa drugstore nung Valentine’s Day.

  31. boysaksak Says:

Everytime I buy condoms sa drugstore the girls in the counter always give me a funny look, why is that? Are w e Filipinos really sexually immature?

  32. Anonymous Says:

Kay aba natin maging tulad ng China? Yun kasi lagi nila sinabi na imbis kontrolin ang population, gawin itong tool to progress.

  33. Anonymous Says:

Accdg to Rousseau, in general, the church always teaches to love more the kingdom of God than their own republic. In general, I have nothing against the teching of Christ.

  34. riot gal - zambales Says:

Dapat talaga grade school pa lang may sex educ. kasi ngayon late na yung pagtuturo nila. Mas marami pang alam ngayon yung mga students kesa sa teacher na magtuturo about that.

  35. Anonymous Says:

May konsepto si Plato na separation of the Church and State luma na pero magagamit pa.

  37. Anonymous Says:

May possible danger na ba magpaanak ngayon sa kumadrona? Bakit ba walang ‘kumadrono’? hehe

  38. zeus Says:

Would the bill serve as a basis for a separate agency that would be in charge with dispensing the services to the masses or would it still be through DOH, etc?

  39. pepeng buraot Says:

The best way of family planning is “ABSTINENCE”.

  40. motley Says:

32, art. 6.

  41. adrian Says:

The church is bragging about abstinence. but they miss one reality: anything can happen.

  42. joycieluvspink Says:

If were going to think about this bill, isn’t it promoting “indirect abortion” ?
